INCIDENT SUMMARY:
The Keizer Police Department has entered into an agreement with DOCVIEW, LLC. The agreement enables the Keizer Police Department to place traffic accident reports on-line. We began offering this service to our customers on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.
Docview.us.com is an internet based application that was developed to help law enforcement agencies and insurance companies manage and access traffic accident reports in a more effective and efficient manner. Through the use of online document management technology, requesting parties are now able to rapidly find and view an accident report usually within 24 hours of being it being scanned. This will eliminate waiting in line at the police department or mailing report request forms. Now requesting parties can access accident reports over the internet, 24 hours a day!
Like many law enforcement agencies across America, the Keizer Police Department has been pursuing an alternative to the hardcopy reporting, storing and fulfilling records requests. The Keizer Police Department concluded that Docview.us.com system was a suitable and secure solution that we want to make available to our customers.
We expect internet viewing and printing of traffic accident reports will significantly reduce the time police and city finance employees spend assisting insurance agencies and citizens seeking copies of traffic accident reports.
Using Docview will allow:
• Reports to be available from work or home, 24 hours a day via the Internet
• Saves citizens the hassle of driving to the Police Department and waiting in line
• Reports are converted to a PDF format making them easy to view, save, print and e-mail
• Reports are accessible usually within 24 hours of being received & scanned, excluding holidays and weekends.
• Reports cannot be modified, maintaining report accuracy and integrity and are clear, high resolution images.
Docview.us.com charges a nominal convenience fee for this service, which is added to the cost of a report. Citizens who do not wish to pay the convenience fee can still come to the police department and pay the normal fee if they wish.
